Abstract
In a survey, illustrated by examples of the types of problem encountered in the manufacture and trimming of hats, the hatting industry is shown to be closely connected with several sections of the textile industry. The important part played by some of these investigations in helping to reach the objectives of the fundamental research programme of the industry's Research Association is discussed. Keywords
