Abstract
The availability of uniaxial magnetic garnets has permitted fabrication of relatively high‐density (≈0.4×10+6 bits per square inch) propagating cylindrical domain devices. A shift register of 103‐bit capacity has been built and tested. In the construction of the shift register a Y‐bar propagate circuit element and Gd2.34Tb0.66Fe5O12 garnet crystal have been used. Based on functional tests, performed at quasistatic speeds, sufficient operating margins relating to propagation along straight lines and around corners, as well as margins relating to bubble generation, have been obtained and are presented. Keywords
