Abstract
Experimental distention of uteri by tantalum, vitallium, and plastic cylinders, glass marbles or polyvinyl alcohol sponge in 19 gilts did not modify the length of subsequent estrous cycles. Normal estrous cycles were observed in six sham-operated gilts. These results following uterine distention in the gilt are contrary to those observed by other investigators in the guinea pig, ewe and cow. Copyright © . .
