Abstract
On a medium containing 3% i-inorfitol (Bios I) and 0.05% yeast extract, A. suboxydans oxidized the i-inositol (apparently) to di-keto-i-inositol. Continued sub-culture of A. s. on this medium, and oxidation of the i-inositol, were promoted by addition of as little as 0.1% of sarbitol. These studies were undertaken in a study of the role of i-inositol as Bios I, and the possibility of it''s entering into a reversible oxidation-reduction system. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
