Abstract
In the sensitized rabbit the vascular insults caused by local administration of specific antigen are strictly localized in the interior of the venules. These lesions occur suddenly along the arterio-venous loops at a distance of 20-30 [mu]. They do not invade arterioles but run straight into the injured veins. These selective localizations may be explained by specific physiological and anatomical properties, i.e. increased permeability and decreased mechanical resistance.
