Abstract
Porcine parathyroidi hormone (PTH) has been isolated. A modification of the procedure used for isolating bovine PTH was utilized. Its biological activity was ap-proximately equal to that of highly purified bovine PTH. Porcine PTH has a molecular weight of 11,100 as determined by ultracentrifugation, and a calculated minimum molecular weight of 9622 based on the amino acid analysis. The tentative empirical formula was calculated as: Lys9, His4, Arg5, Asp8, Thr2, Ser6, Glu11, Pro3, Gly6, Ala7, Val7, Met1, Ile3, Leu10, Tyr1, Phe2, Try1 and (-CONH2)13.This publication has 5 references indexed in Scilit:
