Abstract
The injection of mice with Bordetella pertussis vaccine produces resistance to toxic challenge doses of Candida albicans. Studies with a saline extract of B. pertussis cells indicated that the protective factor for C. albicans may be the same as that for the homologous B. pertussis system. The pertussis vaccine and Salmonella enteritidis lipopolysaccharide given in combination did not elicit a more significant level of protection than the individual components. No protection by any method could be demonstrated in mice receiving the smallest challenge doses. Keywords
