Abstract
The emission edge sometimes observed in the x-ray spectra from metals and alloys corresponds to the upper limit of the Fermi distribution. This edge, which is theoretically sharp, is found to be broadened by varying amounts, and the factors giving rise to this broadening are discussed.Keywords
