Abstract
Ford and Werner (FW) recently gave a formally exact solution to a problem of size-dependent magnetic multipole resonances in anisotropic spheres. Comparison of earlier work by Cardona and Rosenblum gives insight into the nature of the resonances predicted by FW. By extending FW's results to the limit of very small spheres, we recover the results obtained earlier by Visscher and Falicov. Keywords
