Alternate Models of Particle-Core Coupling inBi209

Abstract
Energy levels in Bi209 excited by nonresonant scattering of 16.10-MeV protons are compared with levels reached by scattering from a group of isobaric analog resonances at Ep=14.95 MeV. The nonresonant results are sensitive to the parentage of Pb208 core excitations in the levels of Bi209, while the resonant data provide information about the Bi210 parentage.
