Abstract
Amino acids were separated as dinitrophenyl-amino acid-[14C]methylesters by thin-layer chromatography on 2 plates. For the quantitative determination of radioactive substances (specific activity: 34. 5 mC/mmoles) a liquid scintillation spectrometer was used measuring accurately at 1.5 10-12 moles. The method has been applied to an artificial amino acid mixture and insulin. The amino acid analysis could be reproduced to about 6 per cent. The method is suited for the quantitative ultramicro determination of amino acids.
