Abstract
TENSION-TYPE headache is a highly prevalent condition that can be disabling. Published estimates of the prevalence of tension-type headache vary over a wide range from 1.3% to 65% in men and 2.7% to 86% in women.1-12 Nine studies have used the widely accepted 1988 International Headache Society (IHS) criteria13 to assess the epidemiology of tension-type headache, but even among these studies, prevalence estimates vary widely.1-9Keywords
