Abstract
Three TNFα-inhibitory lignans were isolated from the flower buds ofMagnolia fargesii through bioassay-guided isolation. They were identified as eudesmin, magnolin and lirioresinol-B dimethylether on the basis of their spectroscopic data. All three lignans showed inhibitory effects on TNF-α production in LPS-stimulated murine macrophage cell line, RAW264.7 and eudesmin showed the strongest activity (IC50=51 µM).Keywords
