Gamma-Ray Spectroscopy inA40Nuclei via Heavy-Ion-Induced Reactions: High-Spin States inK41andCa41

Abstract
Compound-nuclear reactions induced by bombardment of Mg24, Mg26, and Al27 targets with 20-60-MeV O16, O18, and F19 beams have been used to study γ transitions between high-spin states in nuclei in the mass region 32<~A<~44. Results for K41 and Ca41 are presented to exemplify the method and results. The γ-ray decay of states with probable spins up to 192 are observed in both nuclei.
