Abstract
A microcomputer-based patient data file and analysis system is feasible and useful. One such system is described. Advantages and disadvantages of the system are discussed. It may be used in many patient-related specialties and will enable practitioners not only to file their data but more importantly to analyze it so that they can improve their performance and cost-effectiveness. Few realize the potential of the microcomputer in clinical practice and many are hesitant to use computing and computerized recording and data analysis because of the size and the difficulties that most experience with larger minicomputer-based facilities.
