Abstract
Gastric acid secretion was studied in 7jpatients undergoing chronic hemodialysis. Measurements included basal acid secretion and maximum betazole hydrochloride (Histalog) response. Basal gastric acid secretion was normal in most of the chronic dialysis patients, despite a long history of antecedent severe uremia. Dialysis appeared to augment both basal secretion and maximum betazole hydrochloride (Histalog) response. Maximum secretory response was normal. The possible relationship of gastric acid secretion to inadvertent hypercalcemia was suggested in that hypercalcemia in some instances appeared to augment gastric secretory response. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
