Abstract
From an iodo-protein with a high thyroid effect (prep, described) an active fraction rich in I can be separated after alkaline hydrolysis; from this thyroxine can be prepared in crystalline form, identified by I2 and N2 contents, m. p. and absorption spectrum. From the mother liquor of the active fraction di-iodo-tyrosine and the hitherto unknown mono-iodo-tyrosine are isolated. Complete purification of the latter could be achieved by chromatographic adsorption. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
