Abstract
Vital staining with 0.01% crystal violet, or plasmolysis with 25% NaCl, reveal an ectoplasm with "thickened areas and appendages of various sizes and shapes on its internal surface, similar to those described for Proteus vulgaris and Mycobacterium tuberculosis." Cell division, here figured, consists of an extension of these ectoplasmic thickenings towards the interior of the cell; they finally meet at the middle of the cell. This publication has 2 references indexed in Scilit:
