ABNORMAL ALPHA KETOSTEROID EXCRETION IN PATIENTS WITH NEOPLASTIC DISEASE

Abstract
Urinary [alpha]-ketosteroids were fractionated systematically by chromatographic adsorption analysis. The crystalline products were purified and characterized. Graphs were constructed showing the pattern of [alpha]-ketosteroid distribution in normal urine and its contrast with abnormal patterns from patients with lymphatic leukemia and cancer. It is uncertain whether the abnormalities are specific for the particular disorder studied.
