A method for testing the antibiotic susceptibility of Chlamydia trachomatis in a cell culture system

Abstract
A method for evaluating the activity of antibacterial agents against Chlamydia trachomatis is described, using a simple doubling dilution technique in a cell culture system. The preliminary results of testing eight antibacterials against a laboratory strain of Chlamydia trachomatis are reported. The need for a standard method and standard strain in this field is discussed.
