Evidence for GiantM2States inPb208

Abstract

Transitions to states in ${}_{}{}^{208}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Pb}$ at 7.40 and 7.91 MeV excitation are suggested to be components of a giant magnetic quadrupole resonance in ${}_{}{}^{208}{}_{}{}^{}\mathrm{Pb}$.
