Percutaneous transhepatic biliary drainage: advantages of the left-lobe subxiphoid approach.

Abstract
Comparative data of the immediate or early complication rates that are associated with placement of percutaneous biliary drainage catheters via a right- and left-hepatic-lobe approach [in the treatment of human obstructive jaundice] is presented. There are significant advantages to the left-lobe approach and possible reasons for this are discussed.
