Abstract
An analysis of the three-electron problem in hyperspherical coordinates is begun by generalizing the adiabatic method developed by Macek and Lin. Approximate potential curves are constructed for Li and . The relationship between the hyperspherical and shell-model quantum numbers is presented for the configurations.
