Abstract
Twenty-four hours after adrenalectomy the content of ACTH in the pituitary of the rat is reduced by 80%. Sham adrenalectomy and scalding reduce the content of ACTH by only 27% and 35%, respectively. The significance of these observations for the problem of the regulation of rate of synthesis and discharge of pituitary ACTH is discussed. Keywords
