Structure of the LaB (001) surface studied by angle-resolved XPS and LEED

Abstract
The atomic structure of the LaB6 (001) clean surface has been studied by angle-resolved x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS) and low-energy electron diffraction (LEED). The results indicate that the outermost layer of the surface is a lanthanum layer which is in a (1×1) ordered state.
