Abstract
Exps. indicated that in pseudorabies of swine the nose serves as portal of entry and exit of the virus. Swine may be an important reservoir for maintenance of pseudorabies, because in them the disease, highly contagious, is non-fatal for this among all its hosts and is of so mild and ill-defined a nature that it may escape notice or be incorrectly diagnosed. Escape of the virus from swine may be responsible for sporadic and highly fatal cases of pseudorabies among cattle in the swine-raising states of the Middle West. U. S. A.
