Abstract
Discusses the historical development of the International Satellite Organisation (INTELSAT), its organisation and future developments. Outlines the operating formats of INTELSAT IV, the communications capacity and optimum terminal size. Discusses future programs leading to greater communications capacity. Presents a table comparing anticipated characteristics of a 1980 communication satellite with INTELSAT IV characteristics.Keywords
