Abstract
The three lichen species Anaptychia fusca, Peltigera canina, and Omphalodiscus spodochrous have been studied with regard to their chemical content. Atranorin, gyrophoric acid, tenuiorin, allantoin, taurine, linoleic acid, a new sterol-C31H52O2 , and waxes have been determined. The identity of the compounds was established by consideration of infrared, mass and nuclear magnetic resonance spectra. Besides, thin layer and column chromatographic techniques were used in this work.
