Abstract
Studies were made with an intact blood flow and following plastic injection. The diameter of the islet capillaries exceeds the diameter of the capillaries of the acinar tissue by approximately 50%. No sluice mechanisms were observed either inside the islets or in the afferent or efferent vessels studied. The administration of glucose, dithizone and alloxan produced no measurable change in the diameter of islet capillaries, afferent or efferent blood vessels. Keywords
