Calculation of the Magnetic Moment of Atomic Oxygen

Abstract

A precision calculation has been made for the atomic $g_J$ factors of the $\left(2\mathrm{}{p}^4\right){}_{}{}^3{}_{}{}^{}P_1^{}{}_{}{}^{}$ and $\left(2\mathrm{}{p}^4\right){}_{}{}^3{}_{}{}^{}P_2^{}{}_{}{}^{}$ terms of atomic oxygen. The results are in exact agreement with the experimental values to within the experimental error.
