Charge Independence in (γ, n) and (γ, t) Reactions

Abstract
The comparison of (γ, n) and (γ, t) reactions on light nuclei with A=4n+3 will give information on charge symmetry versus charge independence for nuclear forces. If isotopic spin is a good quantum number (charge independence), more individual levels should appear in (γ, n) reactions than in (γ, t); those peculiar to (γ, n) have T=32, the others have T=12. The one presently measured case of Li7 favors charge independence.
