Abstract
For many years paediatricians have been puzzled by finding infants suffering from multiple fractures without any history of trauma or recognisable disease of the bone. It has been suggested that there might be some abnormality of bone structure (Metaphyseal Fragility). This paper describes seven cases where multiple fractures were found in infants which on investigation proved to be the result of parental violence and not of any abnormality. Keywords
