The earlier identification of acoustic signals from the bearing of Rumble IV was mistaken, because there had been a then unrecognised change in the geometry of the acoustic array used to make the detection. A reassessment of the bearing, places the sources of the sounds on the same bearing as Rumble III. Consequently, there is now no evidence of recent volcanic activity from Rumble IV.
