Digital heart rate meter

Abstract
Digital techniques were employed in a system used to obtain more accurate measurements of the heart rate after the administration of drugs. The R-wave of an ECG waveform is amplified, processed in logic circuits, and fed into a binary counter. The remainder of the waveform is inhibited. A selected time interval from the mains-triggered timer resets the counter. The information from this counter is converted into analogue form and written on a chart recorder.
