Generalized treatment of alkanes. Part 4.–Triatomic additivity applications to substituted alkanes

Abstract

The method of triatomic partitioning of energy introduced in part 3^† has now been extended to about 79 kinds of substituted alkanes. The role of vicinal interactions in the substituted alkanes has been discussed. Several rules have been proposed for the calculation of the steric energies of substituted alkanes.
