Über Proteaseinhibitoren, II. Isolierung und Charakterisierung von Proteaseinhibitoren aus den Bauchspeicheldrüsen verschiedener Wirbeltiere und des Menschen

Abstract
The pancreas and pancreatic secretion from the human and pig contain a low molecular weight trypsin inhibitor. Its properties are very similar to those of the specific trypsin inhibitor isolated from dog pancreas. In bovine pancreas, this inhibitor occurs in about the same amount as the Kunitz inhibitor, but only the specific trypsin inhibitor is secreted into the juice. The trypsin inhibitor can be separated preparatively from the Kunitz inhibitor by gel filtration on Sephadex, after the formation of the Kunltz-inhibitor-chymotrypsin complex. The substrate, N-[3-carboxy-propionyl]-L-phenylalanine-p-nitroanilide is used for the determination of chymotrypsin activity or its inhiblton in protein-rich solutions. Pancreas homogenates contain proteases, which hydrolyse the substrates N[alpha]-benzoyl-DL-arginine-p-nitroanilide and carboxypropionyl-phenylalanlne-p-nitroanilide, but they are not inhibited by trypsin-chymotrypsin inhibitors.
