Abstract
Breathing vibrational modes near a junction of DNA double helices poly(dA)-poly(dT) and poly(dG)-poly(dC), in the B confirmation are studied theoretically using the Green’s-function technique. The thermal mean-square displacement amplitude of the average hydrogen-bond stretch is found reduced on the A-T base-pair side of the junction, while it is enhanced on the G-C base-pair side due to local-mode contributions. Keywords
