Abstract
The high-energy large-angle scattering between two hadrons is thought of as incoherent scattering between two objects of complicated internal structure. A model is proposed whereby the incoherence is simulated by a simple recipe. Consequences of the model can be deduced simply. The salient feature of the result is that transverse momentum transfer is strongly inhibited for kinematical reasons. Orear's empirical fit for large-angle scattering is obtained.
