Abstract
An exceptionally large influence of magnetic fields on the E⊥c‐polarized emission of Mx[Pt(CN)4]⋅y H2O (M = Mg2+, K+, Li+, Ba2+, Ca2+, Na+) single crystals is reported. When the magnetic field is raised from 0 to 6 T, the emission is blueshifted by 270 cm−1, the intensity increases by a factor 13 and the lifetime is shortened by 3 orders of magnitude. The results are explained within the D′4h‐symmetry of a single [Pt(CN)4]2− complex, assuming that the lowest emitting state is an A′1u.Keywords
