On the Transformation of Dehydrocholic Acid into Deoxycholic Acid in the Rabbit

Abstract
The conversion of C 14-dehydrocholate in rabbit liver to C14-deoxycholate was evidenced by isolation of the latter compound from feces. After intravenous injection the bile contained C14-glycocholate and Cl4-reductodehydrocholate. The authors suggest that the transformation takes place in the intestinal tract.
