Abstract
In addition to the normal dynamic conversion of the bubble domain wall state, we have recently found in garnet films grown by an LPE technique a new anomaly which is best characterized by the observation of continuously varying, in‐plane field dependent effective revolution number, nr. Our results can be explained by introducing Bloch points within the vertical Bloch lines in the domain wall. In light of this interpretation (Slonczewski, this conference), a half‐integer value for nr corresponds to the ground state for Bloch points. The value nr is modified by an in‐plane field, Hx, of the order of 1 to 10 times the saturation magnetization, Ms. Thus we expect the value nr to be such as 0, 0.5, 1.5, 2.0 etc. when Hx=0, being consistent with the present observation. Increasing Hx reduces the value of nr. For example, we observed a change of the average value of nr from 1.0 to 0.5 when Hx/Ms=2.8 for a typical film, as predicted by theory.
