Abstract
In 7 dogs with one kidney explanted (Rhoads technic) and the other kidney removed, urea clearance was higher on high protein than on low protein diets, confirming the finding of Jolliffe and Smith. When max. urea clearances were obtained by meat diets, and min. by low protein diets and fasting, variations of the clearance reaching extremes at 15 and 90 cc. per min. were obtained in normal dogs. The urea clearance varied in direct proportion to the renal blood flow. This publication has 3 references indexed in Scilit:
