Abstract
An rf ion source with transverse magnetic field giving 50 μa of resolved protons with a gas flow of less than 1 cc per hour and with a power input of 150 w is described. The effect of magnetic field upon power requirements is discussed. With increased gas flow resolved currents in excess of 100 μa of protons have been obtained.Keywords
