Abstract
A resume of the Newburgh-Kingston Caries Fluorine Study after completion of a 10-yr. period is presented. In Newburgh the DMF rate for 6 to 9-year-old children living on fluoridated water all their lives was 58% lower than that for the Kingston children. Comprehensive pediatric examinations disclosed no differences of medical significance between the groups of children in the 2 cities. Reference is made to metabolic studies in humans and animals which indicate the safety of in-gestion of fluoridated water at the recommended levels. Keywords
