Deficits in roughness discrimination after posterior parietal lesions in monkeys.

Abstract
Graded sandpapers were used to measure thresholds in monkeys which underwent posterior parietal lesions and in normal controls. Postoperative thresholds for the operated group remained the same while the normal group improved in performance; the parietals improved on easy discriminations, the normals on both easy and difficult ones. "the deficits in performance appear to be related to capacity factors rather than to so-called associational processes." From Psyc Abstracts 36:02:2DC35W.
