Abstract
The role of the decoupling of heavy squarks and a gluino in the radiative breaking of electroweak SU(2)×U(1) symmetry within the framework of the supergravity-inspired supersymmetric standard model is discussed. The corresponding renormalization-group equations are given for the case of real, diagonal Yukawa couplings and the arising scenario of symmetry breaking is sketched. Keywords
