LESIONS IN THE PANCREAS AND IN THE ANTERIOR HYPOPHYSIS WITH FATAL ACIDOSIS FOLLOWING PROLONGED INTRAVENOUS ADMINISTRATION OF GLUCOSE (IN DOGS)

Abstract

Normal dogs succumbed to continuous intraven. inj. of glucose in 24 to 168 hrs., depending on the dosage, with signs of a non-ketogenic acidosis. The pancreas and the anterior hypophysis were often profoundly changed by hemorrhage and retrogressive changes.
