Abstract
406 cases of influenza or pulmonary complications from influenzal infection were admitted to hospital during the recent epidemic. 193 had signs clinically of pneumonia and 112 radiologically demonstrable lung changes. These comprised: (a) Patchy broncho-pneumonic consolidation predominantly basal, although only one lung may be affected. (b) Lobar or segmental consolidation. (c) Pleural effusions. (d) Lung abscess. (e) Incidental findings. In view of the incidental findings of pulmonary tuberculosis, serial radiography and sputum examinations are necessary in all cases. Keywords
