Abstract
Triundecylenin, the triglyceride of A 9:10 undecylenic acid, was taken by mouth in small amounts: in the urine sebacic acid was found. This proves, according to the authors, that unsaturated fatty acids may be attacked in the body at the position of the double linkages, and that in this process saturated di-carbonic acids may appear as intermediary products. However, after feeding large amounts of olive oil or rape oil no decomposition products of olive oil or erucic acid were found in the urine.
