Abstract
The algorithm for estimating both the recombination fraction between a marker gene and a locus affecting a quantitative trait, and also the means and variances of the QTL genotypes, is extended to backcross and doubled haploid populations. The simulation experiments show that estimates of these parameters can be obtained with acceptable accuracy and results are compared with those obtained using F2 populations studied previously (Luo & Kearsey, 1989).Keywords
